Why do I keep looking at the guns in MW2/MW3?

I keep watching the Modern Warfare 3 trailer and look on google images of certain weapons in Modern Warfare 2 like the SCAR-H and ACR assault rifles. I'm not a gun fanatic, and I've only shot a .22 pistol and a 9mm handgun at a gun range with my grandfather once. However, you can see all of a pistol. I look at the images in 3rd person.. from an on the ground view where the stock and bottom of the gun is visible and stuff, and then I look at reloading images cuz it gives a better view of the gun. Then I look at the 3rd person picture again just to make sure what I'm looking at is that gun.. why is that? For example, the SCAR-H in first person view doesn't seem to look like a SCAR in 3rd person view. and i frequently looking back and forth between 3rd and 1st person, trying to find a resemblance, but it's hard to find cuz I can't fin dthe cool lookin' stock of it since it's all up in the character's shoulder which is obviously off screen. What's going on? The MP5K is something that's not hard to distinguish because virtually all the gun is visibl ewhen reloading/walking. Is this some kind of weird obsession?
