Bits do not give you control of your horse. You say you are moving up to more complex moves but you want a bit that will control your horse? A bit does not give you control. It can be used for force and pain which can give you a temporary and false sense of control. This is a training issue. If you train your horse properly with a good foundation, keep a nice soft bit like a Myler level one bit, everything will be perfect. Your horse will be calm and responsive and once it's done, it's done. She needs help if she is skittish and fearful, but a bigger badder bit won't give that to her.
