Winter Cheerleading Uniform Help Needed?

I am the coach for our local high school cheerleading squad, the coaches and I have gotten together to rewrite the uniform policy. Right now the winter uniform allows very little winter weather clothing, starting this year we are going to be giving fleece pullovers as well as fur lined jackets for the very cold winter months. We are stuck on the headwear portion, I was a cheerleader in high school and we wore earmuffs. Two of the other coaches think earmuffs are the way to go, but the other 2 say we should keep the no headwear policy. We do not do alot of stunting or anything if it makes a difference. What does everyone think? Any of the cheerleaders (former cheerleaders) have input?
