Please can you help me pick out an internet security package for my new laptop?

The pre-installed 6-month trial of McAfee Internet Security 2011 on my new laptop from Christmas last year has expired this week and I don't know what to replace it with. I have always been anti-McAfee and considered their past products horrific, but this year's version has actually served me very well and kept me free from threats. I am using a Dell Inspiron 15R 15.6-inch Notebook with Intel Core i3-330M 2.13GHz processor, 4GB RAM and a 500GB HDD on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I am trying to stay away from free packages such as AVG, as I have never got on with them in the past, so if you could recommend the best paid-for package(s) to run on a fairly high-spec everyday home-use LAPTOP, I would be very grateful.
