11th ACR??? hubby wants to reenlist as airborne too?

Ok so my husband is going to fort irwin 11th ACR. Well he was told by someone that they are set to deploy in may of 2012. Is this true? We were originally told it was "nondeployable". I take this word lightly but nevertheless does 11th acr deploy at all? Also my husband wants to go reenlist as airborne when his contract is up. I don't know much about airborne but I have it in my head that if he does he will deploy way more often and be ten times more likely to get killed. So any information on anything to do with airborne is much appreciated. Thanks:)
